AllSaints Spitalfields just opened in down town Seattle. I've been watching the store go up for a while. I was attracted by the hundreds of vintage sewing machines they used to decorate it. Very cool. The clothes are pretty great, but pricey. I especially liked the men's lines-- very classic with great modern details. The women's lines are VERY drapey. They'll look great on thin figures, but might take some trickery to look good on any kind of curves. One friend described the overall look as high-end Mad Max. I think it fits. I did manage to snap some pix before an aggressive sales person banished me.
Spent part of the weekend in Sacramento with Rachel of Darlybird (or rather Darlybird is of her) engaging in a little R&D with vintage flowers and cabachons. One result was the brooch on this hat (thanks chi!). We also hit some thrift stores where I completed my Pyrex collection (amish butterprint what woot). We also found the BEST EVER tag. It was on a pair of little boys pants. WOW.
The only time I've been to Prague I was by myself and my camera was broken. I think the sound and feel of this J. Crew video captures the feeling of that experience rather well. True, it's a glorified commercial, but it's a nice watch, and the Leona Naess song is good. I'm typically not much of a J.Crew shopper, but their new catalog came yesterday and I love a lot of their new looks-- lots of vintage details etc.
I almost bought everything in Richard Chai's line. But then remembered I'm shopping less and have no moola (which is probably why this is turning into a fantasy shopping blog). I love the scrunchy collars.
